QUT offers many Full Time Dance Courses
Queensland University of Technology’s Dance Department, located in Kelvin Grove, will hold auditions in October for entry to its 2014 Full Time Dance Courses. QUT offers three undergraduate and six postgraduate courses.
Full Time Undergraduate Dance Courses include Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance Performance), Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance) and Bachelor of Creative Industries (Dance Major). Full Time Postgraduate Dance Courses include Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours), Bachelor of Creative Industries (Honours), Master of Fine Arts (Research), Master of Arts (Research), Doctor of Creative Industries (Research) and Doctor of Philosophy.
Dance courses at QUT boast an enviable reputation and continue to lead in developing the creative passions of Australia’s future dance artists and educators. Whether students aspire to be a dance performer or future dance educator, QUT’s dance degrees offer exciting pathways for them.
QUT’s Dance Department teaching staff has real-world experience in an extensive range of dance practices and is active in the dance community through Ausdance, Australian Dance Awards, adjudication panels and in international organisations.
The teaching staff is made up of three teams, the dance team, sessional team and dance health team. Faculty includes associate professor Gene Moyle, head of dance; resident choreographer Csaba Buday, a lecturer in contemporary; production coordinator Sue Caulfield-Leclercq, a lecturer in ballet; associate professor Cheryl Stock, dance researcher; and adjunct professor Shaaron Boughen, postgraduate supervisor.

Auditions for 2014 intake for BFA Dance/Dance Performance Courses are scheduled for Friday 4 October in Sydney at the University of NSW (Kensington Campus) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and for Saturday 5 October in Melbourne at The Australian Ballet School from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In Brisbane, there will be auditions for BFA (Dance) courses on Saturday 12 October at QUT’s Kevin Grove Campus from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for round one and from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. for round 2 (call backs). Also in Brisbane, there will be auditions for BFA (Dance Performance) courses on Sunday 13 October at QUT’s Kevin Grove Campus from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for round one and from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. for round 2 (call backs).
