Queensland Ballet Academy welcomes three new faculty members
Queensland Ballet Academy is thrilled to welcome three incredible new members to their core teaching faculty for 2023! Joining the Academy Faculty are Laura Hidalgo, Nicole Mashman-Geyl, and Jiayin Du.
As a former Queensland Ballet Principal Artist, Laura Hidalgo needs little introduction. After a distinguished career, Laura retired from Queensland Ballet in 2020 and has since been teaching ballet on a freelance basis. Laura will be joining Queensland Ballet Academy as a Level 1 teacher for the Classical and Transitional courses in 2023. The Academy is excited about her return and look forward to her joining the Academy Faculty!
Additionally, Nicole Marshman-Geyl, a former artist of Australia Ballet has joined the Academy Faculty as the Lower School classical ballet (Level 6) and body conditioning teacher. Since 1995, Nicole has dedicated her time to teaching classical ballet and various other genres. QBA looks forward to seeing her inspire their young students!
Finally, QBA is delighted to also welcome former Australian Ballet Artist Jiayin Du to the Academy Team. After retiring from The Australian Ballet in 2011, Jiayin has taught classical ballet at The Australian Ballet School for seven years, as well as at various other local and international locations. The Academy is thrilled he will bring his extensive experience and knowledge to their team where he will be a Lower and Upper School Teacher, with Level 5 and Level 1 respectively.
