QLD Ballet to tour ‘Swan Lake’ regionally

Regional Queensland TourQueensland Ballet’s swans and cygnets will soon take wing across Queensland for the Swan Lake regional tour, running 20 June – 7 July. This production captivated audiences during its 2017 season in Brisbane, and will no doubt have hearts aflutter once again.

The sublime classical ballet is choreographed by Ben Stevenson OBE after Petipa and Ivanov. Set to Tchaikovsky’s glorious score, it features costumes and set designs by Kristian Fredrikson.

The Swan Lake Regional Queensland Tour is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland. It begins at the Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre (20 June) then heads to Rockhampton’s Pilbeam Theatre (23 June), Toowoomba’s Empire Theatre (29 and 30 June), Maryborough’s Brolga Theatre (4 July) and Cairns’ Munro Martin Parklands (7 July).

In addition to the performances, the company’s EdSquad is also touring the state with Regional Community Workshops designed to engage young minds. Registrations are open now for all workshops, so be quick to book your place. Head to www.queenslandballet.com.au for more information.
