QL2 Dance Unveils Daring New Works in 2025 ‘Emerging Choreographers Project’

Tickets are now on sale for QL2 Dance’s final performance in 2025: The Emerging Choreographers Project.

Six QL2 dance artists are presenting new, short works in this exciting program: Akira Byrne, Chloe Curtis, Jahna Lugnan, Lucia Morabito, Gigi Rohrlach and Maya Wille-Bellchambers. They are joined by 11 talented QL2 dance artists as their performer/collaborators.

Expect the unexpected: a rainbow opera transforming into a living sculpture garden; the mystery and majesty of metamorphosis laid bare; a mirage of nostalgia slipping into something raw, slippery and strangely beautiful as it cracks free from its fragile shell. This year’s program is sure to surprise, challenge, and delight.

The annual Emerging Choreographers Project (ECP) is QL2 Dance’s most unique project. Mentored by professional artists Alice Lee Holland and Emma Batchelor, young QL2 dance artists create their own original short dance works for a public season in the QL2 Dance A Block Theatre at Gorman Arts Centre.

For young artists, the ECP offers an invaluable experience to explore their curiosity and develop their unique artistry as emerging dance makers.

For audiences, this 60-minute performance program offers an opportunity to engage with innovative works created by curious, creative and talented young Kamberri artists. Stay on for a facilitated Q&A session with the choreographers and cast.

The Emerging Choreographers Project will take place at 6 PM on 13 and 14 December, with an additional 3 PM matinee on 14 December. Book now and be part of discovering tomorrow’s dance stars today.
