Nominate for 2018 Australian Dance Awards!

The Australian Ballet at the 2017 Australian Dance AwardsNominations for the 2018 Australian Dance Awards are now open! Voting will close at midnight on February 28, 2018. Head to the Ausdance website to nominate memorable or outstanding performances, people or achievements from this year.

Check the official Selection Criteria to confirm that your nomination is suitable. If it is, then write a couple sentences on why you think the dancer, choreography, company, or etc. was outstanding or innovative. Explain why they’re worthy of recognition and reward from the professional dance community. These remarks actually help the selection panel decide awardees. Note that the number of times a work or person is nominated is not a deciding factor in final selection.

All nominees must be working in the professional dance sector. They must be making exceptional work of national significance, or making an outstanding and enduring contribution to the industry through their work as a teacher, writer, designer, researcher and etc.

To be eligible for an award for new work (i.e. choreography, film, independent work), the piece must have premiered between January 1 and December 31 the year prior to the awards ceremony. If a work was not a premiere in this period, you can still nominate a dancer or company for an outstanding performance award.

To be eligible for a Lifetime Achievement or Service Award, nominees must have a longstanding national, and perhaps international, profile.
