Name your seat at WAAPA!
With the Christmas season upon us, are you looking for a way to give back to the arts while also giving your loved ones and friends something personal and memorable? Well, the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) can offer a unique and thoughtful gift idea this year – its Name Your Seat initiative.
With this initiative, you can claim a plaque on a seat at the Geoff Gibbs Theatre, the Roundhouse Theatre or the Music Auditorium at WAAPA. The plaque will feature a personalised inscription, making it a great idea for those looking to honor a current/former dancer, dance patron or dance enthusiast.
Plus, Name Your Seat provides a wonderful opportunity to support WAAPA. In return for a donation of $300, the recipient will receive a gift certificate wrapped up in a bow recognising their contribution. Donate by Thursday, December 17 in order to guarantee delivery in time for Christmas.
On naming a seat, Mal Gammon said, “Every year since 1990, I have been privileged to witness an incredible array of performances and outstanding talent produced by this truly world-class training institution. Naming a seat was one way of contributing to this unique and irreplaceable academy in the hope that it will continue to train and nurture future generations of our best creative talent.”
In another testimonial, Tania Chambers said, “I decided to surprise my niece by buying a name on a seat at WAAPA for her. My niece is now 13 and I can’t wait until she visits Perth so I can take her to a performance and she can discover not only her named seat, but also the delights of live performance. Perhaps she will be inspired to study at WAAPA one day?”
All funds raised through the Name Your Seat Christmas Appeal will contribute to WAAPA’s ongoing projects, such as its Visiting Artists program, pressing equipment needs, productions and international student tours. Visit www.waapa.ecu.edu.au for more information.
