MCYB to present ‘The Sleeping Beauty’

Founded in 2014, Melbourne City Youth Ballet (MCYB) provides a platform for young dancers from across the state to work together in a company style environment to create three classical ballet works annually. Coming up soon, MCYB will present The Sleeping Beauty.

The Sleeping Beauty is one of the most popular and treasured classical ballets. MCYB Artistic Director Yuiko Masukawa’s production will honour the style of Russian ballet master Marius Petipa.

With beautiful costumes and sets, the magical tale will unfold to the famous music of Tchaikovsky. Full of colour, The Sleeping Beauty promises to be “a magical escape and a sublime story ballet suitable for the whole family.”

Performances are set for November 10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre. Book tickets at www.darebinartscentre.com.au.

In addition, MCYB will soon announce the full line-up for its 2018 Season. MCYB posted that some “very exciting” details will be released shortly.
