McDonald College’s International Summer School Teacher Access Day
The McDonald College is inviting dance teachers to observe their ISS2025 Visiting Faculty teaching the Senior and Pre-Professional Program, and have a discussion at the end of the day.
This year, The McDonald College is honoured to have Alexander Campbell, Artistic Director of The Royal Academy of Dance, London; Claire Calvert, First Soloist of The Royal Ballet, London; as well as Iohna Loots, former soloist at The Royal Ballet, join as guest faculty – along with an exceptional returning faculty of guest teachers and choreographers, including Steve Rooks from Vassar College New York and Paul Boyd from the Queensland Ballet Academy.
The McDonald College’s renowned 5-day summer program of classes and workshops with international and national dance masters for junior to pre-professional dance students returns in 2025 from Monday 13 – Friday 17 January.
Over the past 18 years, thousands of students between the ages of 7 and 20 have engaged in their highly acclaimed summer intensive in Sydney, with many dancers returning each year – a testimony to the exceptional guest faculty and the lasting friendships the students build with each other.
The 5-day program of classes and workshops focuses on honing technique, harnessing creativity, and developing artistry and musicality with confidence.
Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced dancer, McDonald College’s comprehensive program covers a range of genres. Students are grouped into classes according to their age and current level of ballet training, determined by the faculty and the ISS Director. The genres taught vary based on the age group, incorporating pointe work as appropriate.
Dance teachers interested in the ISS2025 Teacher Access Day, taking place on Wed 15 January, can book now. Only few places are available. Cost to attend is $45.
