MCB to tour ‘Madame Butterfly’ nationally

Led by Artistic Director Michael Pappalardo, Melbourne City Ballet (MCB) will soon bring Madame Butterfly to theatres around the country. This romantic ballet will tour across New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania beginning 4 July.

Set to music by composer Georges Bizet, Madame Butterfly puts love, honour and loyalty to the test. The story follows Japanese geisha Cio-Cio-San, who hopelessly clings to the belief that her marriage to Lieutenant Pinkerton, an American naval officer, is a loving and eternal relationship. Tragically, it is not.
