Lion Heart Dance Company to hold auditions
In 2016, Lion Heart Dance Company, under the direction of Benjamin Curé, will launch in Australia. It will premiere its debut production entitled Table of Eight in March.
In preparation of this new show, Lion Heart is scheduling auditions on January 10, 2016. Auditions for the eight-member cast (four professional male dancers and four professional female dancers) will be held in Melbourne.
An established teacher and choreographer with a successful feature-length show (The Scarlet Trace) already under his belt, Curé is ready to lead this company to prominence. The emerging company aims to create performance and development opportunities for professional dancers while opening up the world of dance to those aspiring to dedicate their futures to the studio and stage.
In Table of Eight, Curé allows audiences into a small slice of the characters’ lives, commenting on our culture’s technologically advanced but socially disconnected generation. Touching on heavier issues such as grief, alcohol addiction, loneliness and relationship breakdown, the show aims to create a space for audiences to consider what is weighing most heavily in their lives and those around them.
