LINK Dance Co. performs at Dancehouse

WAAPA Pre-professional dance troupeLINK Dance Company is a pre-professional dance company which exists to give dancers the opportunity to make the transition from student to professional. Attached to the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts at Edith Cowan University, the company is made up of dancers who have completed a three-year university dance course and have gained entry into LINK Dance Company by audition.

LINK Dance Company 2018 will present a selection of works by Australian choreographers Richard Cilli, Emma Fishwick, Tobiah Booth-Remmers and Michael Whaites at Dancehouse, Melbourne on Saturday and Sunday, November 17 and 18.

Choreographer Richard Cilli, former Helpmann Award-winning dancer, has set This is Now on LINK as a sequel to the 2017 work That Was Then, performed by many of the same cast as their final work from the undergraduate program.

Emma Fishwick’s Dance, in a Dissolving Horizon will examine the constantly shifting landscape through 13 female bodies.

Comic and arresting, The Men’s Piece from LINK Artistic Director Michael Whaites delves into the world of egalitarianism and the shades of grey that are at the edges when we all think we are the same.
