Joffrey Ballet School hosts Trainee Auditions

New York’s prestigious Joffrey Ballet School will host auditions in Australia and New Zealand in July for its Trainee Programs. Dancers aged 13 to 25 are invited to audition in Sydney on July 15, Melbourne on July 17, Perth on July 23, Brisbane on July 24 and Christchurch, NZ on July 30.

Auditions will take the form of a 90-minute ballet class. Those wishing to audition for the jazz and contemporary dance program should prepare a short contemporary dance or jazz solo (no longer than two minutes) to be danced at the end of the ballet class. A half-hour pointe shoe class will also be offered.

Joffrey Ballet School’s Ballet Trainee Program is a four-year course that is as competitive and intensive as NYC’s professional dance scene, providing rigorous and valuable training for the serious ballet student. The school’s Jazz and Contemporary Trainee Program prepares artists for the competitive working world of dance in the fields of concert dance, Broadway shows, commercial industrials, and national and international tours.
