International dancers in special performances
In January 2016, Projection Dance will stage two gala performances featuring the Italian ballerina and Guest Principal Artist of The Royal Ballet, Mara Galeazzi.
Australian choreographer Tim Podesta, the director of Projection Dance, and his partner Jennifer Podesta are producing the event that will also star former Australian Ballet Senior Artist Juliet Burnett, Slovak National Ballet Soloist Dominic Ballard and international guest artists Kimbrian Bergh and Kristy Lee Denovan performing a wonderful collection of works by acclaimed international and Australian choreographers.
“Over recent months, I have been fortunate to have my works included in galas in London and Milan in programs featuring the very best of the best dancers performing works by leading dance makers; I simply thought we need more of this in Australia and the idea grew from there,” Tim Podesta said.
There are two performances scheduled as part of the Ballet Stars Under The Stars performances. The first is in the Victorian high country at Falls Creek. This will be a spectacular setting where the dancers will perform under the stars on a specially designed stage, where audience members can purchase food and wine packages while enjoying world-class entertainment.
The second is at the Deakin Edge Theatre at Federation Square in Melbourne, which will conclude a day of workshops, masterclasses and an exclusive “Coffee, Tea and Cupcakes Q&A” with the wonderful Mara Galeazzi.
The Royal Ballet star said, “I am very excited to be coming to Australia and performing with the other wonderful dancers in such stunning venues. Tim Podesta and I have worked together a lot over the past year and I look forward to performing his work again, as well as other beautiful works rarely seen in Australia.”
The Falls Creek performance is January 23 and the Deakin Edge performance is the following day on January 24. Further information can be found at projectiondance.com and bookings through www.trybooking.com/JEZZ.
