Immersive Dance at The Lab: With the Ginkgo
Created for The Lab, Adelaide’s cutting edge multi-genre performance space, With the Ginkgo is an immersive contemporary dance performance that push and pulls between a hypnotic state of serenity and the brink of breaking.
With 50 square metres of LED displays as a backdrop, the audience is transported into the forest.
Time in nature benefits our physical health and emotional wellbeing and is grounding for the soul. “In the shade of the ginkgo tree I’m able to feel why I am here. I’m here to pay attention, to love and to be loved, to know and to not know. I’m here to be. To be here not just on this planet, but with it. Be here with friends, with family, to be here with the forest. The gift is of being itself.” John Green, The Anthropocene Reviewed.
With the Ginkgo is choreographed by Kristy Duncan and danced by Kelly Bodger, Alicia Lintern, Christine Rowland, and Alice Wagstaff-McCartan. Visual aids are provided by Alistair McCartan and Kristy Duncan.
Performances will take place Friday 3 June & Saturday 4 June at 6:30pm at The Lab, Light Square in Adelaide. Tickets are $20 and are on sale now. Click here to learn more.
