Groove Therapy hits Melbourne

Vanessa Marian dance classesHave you always admired dancers but felt too old, curvy or uncoordinated to try and take a class? Well, you haven’t missed the boat according to industry professional Vanessa Marian’s Groove Therapy!

Groove Therapy is described as “an all-encompassing dance experience designed to make you feel good about yourself.” Marian—who has trained in street dance across NYC, Berlin, Paris, London, Tokyo and Australia—has been offering her Groove Therapy weekly classes in Redfern, a suburb of Sydney, to great acclaim.

Her website says, “Groove Therapy wants to bring you into an environment that allows you to get moving whilst stimulating your brain to improve your memory, coordination and boost those feel-good endorphins. It also lets you meet like-minded, terrified, beginner homies – so you can chill about not being coordinated… yet.”

After selling-out weekly in Sydney, Groove Therapy has now come to Melbourne for November to offer a “no mirror, dim-lights and safe space dance class” every Tuesday at 6 pm at Thousand Pound Bend Gallery.

Resident Melbournian Groove Therapist Hena Memishi will guide attendees through the 101 of “street hip-hop party dance moves” to prep them for their next “d-floor encounter.”

The next few classes are scheduled for November 15, 22 and 29

in Melbourne. Head to www.groovetherapy101.com for more information.
