FORM Dance Projects and Sydney Dance Company present Choreographic Workshop
FORM Dance Projects is excited to continue its partnership with Sydney Dance Company to offer its 2022 Choreographic Workshop.
This popular program provides dance students with the unique opportunity to develop their choreographic skills under the guidance of outstanding industry professionals.
Mentored by Sydney Dance Company Teaching Artists, the practical workshop shares choreographic tools and techniques used by the Company’s Artistic Director Rafael Bonachela’s creative process.
In this immersive one-day workshop, students are challenged to think innovatively, disrupt familiar patterns of moving, generate interesting material, and develop their confidence and creativity in composition. The workshop program also offers insights into Rafael Bonachela’s creative process through viewing and discussing excerpts of Sydney Dance Company work with the Teaching Artists.
The Choreographic Workshop is particularly valuable for HSC dance students and students who would like to participate in Sharp Short Dance later in the year.
“The choreographic process and use of compositional tools was wonderful”– Evangeline Doust Penrith Anglican College, Dance teacher
A digital resource pack from Sydney Dance Company will be available for distribution prior to the workshop.
Suitable for students age 9-12, the workshop will take place on 5 April at the Cloister at St Patrick’s Cathedral, beginning at 10 am. The workshop last four hours, including a lunch break. Cost is $33 per student/additional teachers. Supervising Teachers may attend for free.
