EOIs sought for Tracks Dance Program

Darwin Choreographic ProgramTracks Dance Company in Darwin, NT is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for its 2017 Choreographic Program, which will be directed and facilitated by its Dance Animateur Kelly Beneforti. The program will run August 30 to November 19, and EOIs close this Friday, July 28.

Through this free program, Tracks will provide a distinctive opportunity for emerging movement artists and dance-makers to explore the mechanics and creative scope of choreography in a supportive environment. Running since 2010, it is part of the Tracks Development Program. It aims to fill a void in the performing arts sector in Darwin, where it is often difficult to gain training and experience in choreography.

All in all, the Choreographic Program runs for 12 weeks and requires a minimum commitment of six hours per week. Workshops, which will include weekly discussions, are scheduled for Thursdays (6-8 p.m.) and Saturdays (1-5 p.m.). Then the final week of the program requires commitment to some extra rehearsals, and a public performance on the weekend of November 18 and 19.
