Entries now open for RAD’s Eileen Hogarth Awards 2026

The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is delighted to announce that entries are now open for the 2026 Eileen Hogarth Awards, formerly known as the SA RAD Awards. The event will be held on Sunday, 2 August 2026, at Helen Reid Hall, 318 Unley Road, Hyde Park SA 5061.

This long-standing competition, running for over 50 years, provides young dancers with valuable performance experience in front of a live audience. Participants from Grade 2 through to Solo Seal will take the stage in either a syllabus class or an open class. Those selected as finalists will also perform a chosen syllabus dance.

A minimum of four finalists will be chosen from each Award class. All finalists will then return to the stage in the afternoon for the combined Grades and Vocational Finals. A winner and runner-up will be selected for each Award category.

For the first time, the 2026 Eileen Hogarth Awards will offer two training scholarships in collaboration with Queensland Ballet Academy. These consist of two one-week immersion scholarships and are open to all dancers participating across the awards.

Every entrant will also receive a limited-edition 2026 Eileen Hogarth Awards t-shirt, featuring all RAD events for the year, a wonderful keepsake of the occasion. T-shirts and entry numbers will be available for collection at the registration desk on the day. Entrants are reminded to check the sizing chart carefully before submitting their entry, as changes cannot be made after submission.

Entries close on Sunday, 12 July 2026. Dancers, teachers, and families are encouraged to register early for this popular event.

The Eileen Hogarth Awards continue to celebrate technical excellence, artistry, and the personal growth that comes from performing under pressure. Many past participants have gone on to enjoy successful careers in dance, thanks in part to the confidence and experience gained at this event.
