Dream Dance Company announces 2016 choreographer and auditions

Lauren SeymourThe Dream Dance Company’s Founder Marko Panzic has announced that American choreographer Candace Brown will serve as the choreographer for the company’s 2016 Season. Brown, an internationally renowned choreographer and mentor admired by dancers worldwide, will be coming to Australia next month to host auditions.

 

Brown has taught in Los Angeles as a faculty member at the popular Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, the acclaimed Edge Performing Arts Center and the renowned hot spot Millennium Dance Complex. She’s also taught around the world in various countries like Japan, Spain, Russia, Brazil, Greece, Poland, Ireland and Amsterdam, as well as across the U.S. and Australia.

 

A Monsters of Hip Hop alumna, Brown was previously a principal dancer on UNITY LA, directed by Emmy Award-winning Tessandra Chavez. She has choreographed for artists like Nicole Scherzinger under the direction of Jaquel Knight, plus danced/assisted major choreographers on television shows like X-Factor and Dancing With The Stars. Recent credits include Janelle Monae and Black Girls Rock (BET) with choreography by Luam Keflezgy.

 

Panzic wrote, “Candace is a huge asset to The Dream Dance Company. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Australian dancers to train, learn and be exposed to one of the top choreographers and mentors.”

 

Auditions will be held on January 16 and 17 in Sydney. Panzic and Brown will be on site looking for passionate dancers who will bring to life their vision for next year’s show. To register for the audition, email thedreamdancecompany@gmail.com your details.

After the auditions and workshops in January, Brown will then return in June/July for five weeks to work with The Dream Dance Company. At that time she’ll also act as a guest mentor for Marko Panzic’s pre-professional program SHOW|BUSINESS.
