Four World Premieres at Australian Dance Theatre this November

Cultivate:ONE is an exclusive season of all new Australian works premiering in November at Australian Dance Theatre’s home, The Odeon.

Celebrating the rich artistic talent within and around the Company, the Cultivate series will provide an ongoing platform for established and emerging artists to develop and present their work for audiences on Kaurna Yerta.

In its inaugural year, three of our Company Artists – Brianna Kell, Zachary Lopez and Sebastian Geilings – will be presenting their work alongside Associate Artistic Director, Sarah-Jayne Howard.

“My work has always had an interest in the passing or temperature of time. How we interact and absorb time is different for us all. I’d like to explore environments of time with observations on the individual expressing the time,” shares Brianna Kell.

Zachary Lopez adds, “I’ll be utilising ideas from three main areas of research: linguistics, Spanish conquistadors and the dictation test (White Australia Policy)”.

“This work is a practise of honouring comfort to facilitate an activation of potential and presence. A sacred experiential happening between two individual nervous systems; their reactions to the outer and the deep listening to their ‘being’,” says Sebastian Geilings.

Associate Artistic Director, Sarah-Jayne Howard shares, “Breathe For Me is a footnote study in pockets of hope amongst a trashed wasteland.”

Cultivate:ONE performances will take place 17-25 November at The Odeon. Tickets will be on sale later in the year so mark it in your calendar and don’t miss your chance to see this exciting season.
