Circa to take over Brisbane Powerhouse with world-premiere ‘Show Me Love’

Circa will transform Brisbane Powerhouse into an after-dark world of acrobatics, rave culture and physical spectacle when it returns to the venue for the world premiere of Show Me Love, closing out Melt Festival 2026.

Running 5–8 November, the new work will take audiences beyond the traditional theatre space and through the winding back corridors of Brisbane Powerhouse before arriving in the theatre. Created by Circa Artistic Director Yaron Lifschitz and the Circa Ensemble, Show Me Love brings together Circa artists and guest performers for a visceral exploration of bodies, connection and community.

The experience begins with acrobats testing the boundaries between instinct and control, with raw physicality building around the audience as they move through the venue.

Then the bass takes over. Music produced and performed by DJ Sveta drives the performance toward a rave-like climax, combining the physical virtuosity for which Circa is known with the energy of underground clubs and dance floors.

The work draws on spaces where community is created collectively, capturing the feeling of finding connection and recognition in the people around you. Circa describes the production as “a wild, dark celebration of bodies and beings.”

The Brisbane-based company, Australia’s most internationally toured contemporary circus companies, has previously brought its work to Brisbane Powerhouse. Show Me Love marks a return to the venue in an expanded format, with the building itself becoming part of the performance.

The experience begins with a journey through the venue before entering the theatre, with accessible options available at all stages of the experience.
