Carriageworks Hosts Australian Dance Theatre’s ‘Marrow’ and Special Workshop
Blending breathtaking movement with smoke, light and a pulsing soundtrack, Marrow plunges audiences into a world where the ancient and contemporary collide. Created by Australian Dance Theatre’s (ADT) visionary Artistic Director, Daniel Riley, this powerful dance work is a raw, honest and politically charged response to a nation grappling with its identity and future.
Part-rave, part-ritual, Marrow is a visceral work that seeks unity by boldly confronting the truths of our past and the silences that shape our present. Developed in collaboration with ADT’s Company Artists, senior Kaurna/Ngarrindjeri Elder Uncle Moogy Sumner AM, and rising composer James Howard (SAVAGE), Marrow grabs you by the heart and doesn’t let go. See Marrow at Carriageworks 10-12 July. Tickets begin at $40. Book Now.
Additionally, Carriageworks and ADT are pleased to invite you for a special opportunity to participate in a dance workshop conducted by Australian Dance Theatre company members.
The Kaurna Yerta/Adelaide-based Australian Dance Theatre invites dancers to join company members for an immersive 90-minute workshop exploring ADT’s work Marrow. Participants will experience movement activities that introduce the themes of the work and ADT’s unique creative process.
The workshop provides insight into the company and the touring production of Marrow. Activities include repertoire exploration and creative tasks to develop new movement ideas. All levels of dance experience are welcome. The workshop takes place Wednesday, July 9 from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm at Carriageworks. Register Here.
