bbodance Australasia celebrates 90 years
bbodance is celebrating 90 years in Australasia by offering 90 dance teachers across Australia and New Zealand the opportunity to join its global community of Registered Teachers for the remainder of 2026 for an exclusive fee of $90.
The special offer marks nine decades since bbodance first established its Australasian branch in Sydney in 1936, six years after the organisation was founded in the UK. Since then, bbodance has provided dance teachers across the region with opportunities to connect with an international community of educators and professionals.
An international dance Awarding Organisation, bbodance offers six syllabus genres: Classical Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Musical Theatre and AcroDancer. While its syllabi draw on the organisation’s longstanding heritage, they are designed to remain relevant and enjoyable for today’s dancers.
Membership extends beyond examinations and syllabi. Registered Teachers receive global recognition and access to flexible exam and assessment pathways, as well as eligibility to enter students for the organisation’s Dance Theatre Awards.
Members can also access teaching resources, safeguarding support and professional development opportunities through discounted continuing professional development (CPD), including online courses and recordings. Teachers can become Host Dance Schools, supporting teaching assistants working towards a Level 3 Certificate, while exclusive partner benefits include discounts on PBT courses.
For bbodance, the anniversary is also an opportunity to celebrate the community that has grown around the organisation over generations. Many members have lifelong and multigenerational connections to bbodance, contributing to a worldwide network of dance teachers and professionals.
Alongside its resources and professional development opportunities, members have access to personal support from the bbodance team, which aims to create accessible dance opportunities for teachers and students.
The 90-teacher offer is available to eligible dance teachers across Australia and New Zealand for the remainder of 2026, providing a chance to become part of bbodance’s Australasian community as it celebrates its 90th anniversary.
