
Bangarra Dance Theatre Welcomes New Dancers
Bangarra Dance Theatre is thrilled to share Zeak Tass, Edan Porter and Tamara Bouman will join them in 2025.
Zeak, a proud South Sea Islander and Yuwibara man from Mackay, began dancing at the age of 12, completing his Diploma in Elite Performance at the National College of Dance. After graduating, Zeak went on to perform at Disneyland Paris, before going on to achieve his dream of performing as a Featured Soloist at the Moulin Rouge. After years abroad, Zeak looks forward to meeting and connecting with new generations of talent nationwide as he joins Bangarra this year.
Edan, a proud Gomeroi man from North-West NSW, began his dance journey at age seven, learning traditional Aboriginal dance from his Elders on Country. He trained professionally at NAISDA Dance College, graduating in 2019, and has worked with a variety of companies including Sydney Dance Company, Opera Australia and NT Dance Company. Edan is passionate about teaching and has worked with regional and remote First Nations communities across Australia, striving to share his spirit and stories around the world.
Tamara, a proud descendant of the Biripi Peoples of the Mid-North NSW Coast, trained in classical ballet and commercial dance from age three, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance) from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2019. Tamara has collaborated with many leading artists and companies, and is no stranger to Bangarra, performing in their Horizon season at Sydney Opera House. Passionate about cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural collaborations, Tamara uses dance to honour her culture, connect to the land, and inspire audiences.
