Aus Ballet School Auditions for 2017 Intake
The Australian Ballet School is preparing to conclude its 2016 National Audition Tour with Finals on August 8-13. The National Audition Tour is conducted during June – August each year, visiting major cities around Australia. So far in 2016, the school has toured to Launceston, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, Adelaide and Perth.
At each audition, students can choose to try out for the Full Time Programme, After School Programme or the Interstate/International Training Programme (to commence the following January). The audition consists of a modified class and a physical assessment. The class is specially structured to assess a range of criteria including coordination, musicality and physical suitability for the demands of The Australian Ballet School’s Training Programme.
While the preferred deadline for DVD auditions for January 2017 intake has passed, students who are interested in attending the school can technically submit DVD auditions at any time.
The school offers various full time course options, including Level 4 Full Time, Diploma of Dance, Advanced Diploma of Dance, Graduate Diploma of Classical Ballet and Graduate Diploma of Elite Dance Instruction.
The top-notch, acclaimed faculty includes Dale Baker, Megan Connelly, Simon Dow, Jiayin Du, Michela Kirkaldie, Irina Konstantinova, Sergey Konstantinov, Kirsty Martin, Joanne Michel, Christine Vavladellis and Lynette Wills. Under them, students will study classical ballet, pointe (female students), pas de deux, variations, contemporary dance, production, performance psychology, career management, gymnasium training (male students), body conditioning and jazz.
