Audition for The Australian Ballet School’s 2026 Intake
The Australian Ballet School (ABS), Australia’s national centre for elite vocational dance training, is now accepting auditions for its 2026 intake. Renowned for producing dancers with exceptional artistry, strong classical technique, and pure movement quality, the ABS is your pathway to a professional career in dance.
The Australian Ballet School is celebrated for its unique, professional training that shapes dancers with internationally recognized qualities—coordination, purity of line, and expressive artistry. Auditions for 2026 entry into its full-time programs, starting from Level 4 and progressing through accredited courses (Levels 5–8), are your opportunity to showcase your potential.
The audition process is designed to highlight your technical ability and passion, including:

The 2025 National Audition Tour offers opportunities across Australia to secure your place in the 2026 cohort. Auditions will take place in Canberra on 15 June, Adelaide on 29 June, Brisbane on 3–4 July, Sydney from 6–8 July, Perth from 15–17 July, Hobart on 27 July, and Melbourne from 28–30 July. As a registered training organization, the ABS offers the following accredited courses that blend rigorous dance training with academic studies:
- Diploma of Professional Dance – Elite Performance (CUA51520, Levels 5–6, 2 years)
- Advanced Diploma of Professional Dance – Elite Performance (CUA60120, Level 7, 1 year)
- Graduate Diploma of Classical Ballet (NAT11008, Level 8, 1 year)
