Join Alisdair Macindoe, creator of Plagiary, in an innovative workshop exploring the intersection of dance and artificial intelligence (AI).

This unique experience combines computer guided dance improvisations, creative writing, short group performances and guided discussions to delve into the automation of creative work and the impact of AI on the arts.

Alisdair Macindoe pushes the boundaries of choreography through his work with dance, sound, electronics, coding and text. His recent projects include experiments in automated dance, AI-driven creativity and new music technology, tackling themes of trans-humanism, climate change and identity in the digital age.

Macindoe’s Plagiary is an algorithmically-directed, experimental dance performance that employs AI in the roles of playwright and choreographer. Plagiary cracks open a space to deepen our knowledge of embodiment. It champions the human body as one of the final entities untouched by artificial intelligence. Plagiary will have its world premiere at Arts Centre Melbourne 28-31 August.
