DRILL is in the process of a national call out for their next Artistic Director. This is a rare opportunity for a creative and community-driven leader to inspire Tasmania’s young talent through contemporary, youth-centred dance programs. You’ll champion the voices of young people, support a collaborative and inclusive culture, and lead DRILL’s mission of shaping the creative future of the arts in lutruwita/Tasmania. The Artistic Director is responsible for the Artistic Direction and culture of the company, developing the company’s programming and strategic plan in collaboration with the Executive Producer and Board. Within their role they will choreograph major seasons of contemporary dance work with young people aged 9 – 25, lead a significant dance-in-schools program, and regularly teach classes and workshops for young people and independent artists. 

DRILL is the primary provider of contemporary dance engagement opportunities for young people in southern Tasmania. DRILL is run by a small team consisting of a full-time Artistic Director, part-time Executive Producer, casual choreographers, tutors, designers, technicians and project staff who are engaged as required, and overseen by a board of directors.
