Sydney Dance Company is thrilled to announce its Winter Professional Intensive, running from Monday 29 June to Friday 3 July 2026. This concentrated five-day program is designed for professional and early-career dancers aged 18 and over who are ready to deepen their practice.

The intensive offers a rigorous and creatively charged studio experience at Sydney Dance Company’s studios in the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct. Guided by the company’s Artistic Team and leading industry artists, participants will engage in deep physical enquiry, creative exploration, and technical development. Dancers will take contemporary technique classes in a variety of styles and methodologies, work on improvisation tasks, undertake creative development, and have the opportunity to learn Sydney Dance Company repertoire. The program aims to extend each dancer’s practice and expand their artistic perspective, leaving participants feeling creatively motivated and inspired.

This is an application-based program open to tertiary dance students, graduates, and professional dancers with a high level of ballet or contemporary dance training. Both Australian and international applicants are welcome. Sydney Dance Company is unable to assist international dancers with visa processes, however no study visa is required to participate.

Applications close on Thursday 18 June 2026. The application is free, and successful applicants will be notified by email. The company may make offers prior to the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.

The program runs from 29 June to 3 July 2026, with daily sessions held from 9:30am to 4:30pm (schedule may vary slightly). It will take place at Sydney Dance Company, Wharf 4/5, Walsh Bay Arts Precinct, 15 Hickson Road, Dawes Point NSW 2000. The program fee is $635 including GST, payable only upon acceptance.
