Apply Now for Australian Dance Theatre’s Secondment Week 2026

Australian Dance Theatre is thrilled to announce applications are now open for Secondment Week 2026, an exceptional professional development opportunity for emerging dancers. Held from 23 to 27 March on Kaurna Yerta in Adelaide, this immersive program invites second- and third-year tertiary dance students, as well as artists in the early stages of their professional careers, to spend a full week training alongside ADT’s renowned ensemble of Company Artists.

Participants will gain invaluable insight into ADT’s distinctive performance and choreographic methodologies, while working closely with the broader company to deepen and extend their practice at a pivotal moment in their artistic journey. This intensive experience offers a rare chance to engage directly with one of Australia’s leading contemporary dance companies and explore innovative approaches that have shaped ADT’s acclaimed repertoire.

Best of all, Secondment Week is offered free of charge to successful applicants, removing financial barriers to participation in this high-calibre program. Selected dancers will need to arrange and cover their own travel and accommodation.

The application process is straightforward and must be completed through the official digital portal. To apply, candidates are asked to provide their full name, contact details, a short biography, a brief written statement explaining their interest in the program and what excites them about ADT’s work, a one-minute showreel link, a headshot, CV, and any access requirements.

Applications close on 20 January 2026. Emerging dancers eager to elevate their practice and connect with ADT’s dynamic artistic vision are strongly encouraged to apply now via the official portal. This is a unique opportunity to take a transformative step forward in a professional dance career.
