The audition entails two parts – first a classical ballet class, a modern/contemporary class and some improvisation/creative work as Part I; then a solo dance, an interview and a writing task as Part II.
After hosting its first on August 6, AMPA’s other auditions are set for Thursday, September 24; Thursday, October 1; Friday, November 13; Thursday, November 19; and Friday, November 20.
The Bachelor of Dance at AMPA, the only performance-focused degree in NSW, provides students with the technical ability, creativity and professionalism required to sustain a successful career in the extremely competitive dance industry in Australia and abroad. It develops highly skilled, disciplined and versatile dance artists in an atmosphere that applauds innovation. Subjects include dance composition, dance technique and dance performance.
