AMDA auditions in Sydney and Melbourne
With the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), Aussie dancers have the opportunity to train in two of the United States’ leading dance hubs, New York City and Los Angeles. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to study dance in the U.S.!
AMDA offers top-notch dance training in two cities bursting with auditions and opportunities to break into the dance and entertainment industry. The academy is equipped with leading instructors that guide students through versatile dance training for theatrical, commercial and concert performance.
Coming up soon, AMDA will hold Australian auditions in Sydney on September 21 and Melbourne on September 22 for 2014 student intake.
AMDA offers a four-semester Conservatory Program as well as an eight-semester Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program in Dance Theatre. Plus, there are additional programs in Music Theatre, Acting and Performing Arts. For Australian dancers, international student scholarships are available.
While at AMDA, students will often learn from working professionals, as the majority of academy instructors actively work in film, television, concert and on stage.
Dance instructors include Robert Rich, of So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, The LXD and Lady Gaga; Chryssie Whitehead, of A Chorus Line (Broadway), Every Little Step, Save the Last Dance and The Producers; Robin Levine, of Mamma Mia! (Broadway), The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Chicago, Cabaret, Anything Goes and Mame; Nicole Berger, of ABC’s Happy Endings, Mark Dendy Dance and Theater and Across the Universe; Kevin Williamson, who danced for Julie Taymor, David Gordon, Angelin Preljocaj and the LA Opera, and was a member of LA Contemporary Dance; Nic Thompson, of Mary Poppins (Broadway), The Who’s Tommy (European tour), The Chew and Law and Order: SVU; Daria Tertova, who trained at the Bolshoi Ballet school and performed with Riverdance, Burn the Floor (London), Cats, Chicago and Romeo and Juliet (Paris); and Elisa Van Duyne, of Broadway’s Finian’s Rainbow, Beauty and the Beast, 110 in the Shade and 42nd Street.
