Adelaide College of the Arts to host audition

Bachelor of Creative Arts Dance ProgramAdelaide College of the Arts is holding a special audition on Friday, March 4 for acceptance to its Bachelor of Creative Arts Dance Program, a dual degree option with Flinders University.

Dance students at Adelaide College of the Arts receive industry-endorsed training and enjoy many professional networking opportunities. This year, the dance college has industry collaborations with international choreographers from ilDance Sweden and a partnership with Australian Dance Theatre.

While the Bachelor of Creative Arts Dance Program has technically already commenced, the college has a few extra places available and wants to give dancers an opportunity to audition. For inquiries, contact Lisa Heaven at lisa.heaven@tafesa.edu.au or 0421 592 402, or Peter Sheedy at peter.sheedy@tafesa.edu.au or 0400 976 226.

The 2016 training program will see students present their work in the Adelaide Fringe Festival, engage in a full-day workshop with internationally renowned dance company Tanztheater Wuppertal–Pina Bausch, receive invitations to attend the dress rehearsal of Nelken by Tanztheater Wuppertal, glean from the teaching of Australian Dance Theatre repertory led by ADT dancers, and receive invitations to observe ADT rehearsals and performances.

An excellent example of the program’s successful track record is alumnus Chris Aubrey, who graduated from AC Arts in 2007 and is now the rehearsal director at Sydney Dance Company. He danced with ADT from 2007-2011 and has also worked with Larissa McGowan, Antony Hamilton, Lina Limosani and Leigh Warren.
