8th Melbourne Latin Festival arrives this week
Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance in North Melbourne is home to the 8th International Melbourne Latin Festival this week, running March 24-27.
Featuring international and local Latin dance artists, the 2016 Melbourne Latin Festival brings an even more exciting and entertainment-filled weekend than its previous events. It presents four days of Latin dance shows and parties with more than 150 Latin dancers, 12 Latin DJs and 40 dance workshops.
Workshops range from the complete novice to the professional, including styles like Salsa, Bachata, Zouk, Samba, Cha Cha, Argentine Tango, Kizomba, Gafieira and more!
Flying in from the USA, Frankie Martinez is hosting a masterclass and is set to perform. He’s widely regarded as one of the most innovative and renowned Latin contemporary dancers of his generation. To date, he has performed and taught in more than 50 cities and over 20 countries worldwide. This includes prestigious venues like Madison Square Garden, Roseland Ballroom, Lincoln Center, Aaron Davis Hall, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and NY Summerstage, among many others. His masterclass is set for Friday at 3 pm.
