2015 National Dance Forum set for March
The third National Dance Forum will be presented by Ausdance National and the Australia Council for the Arts on Thursday to Saturday, March 19-21, 2015. Hosted at Footscray Community Arts Centre in Melbourne, NDF2015 will take place in conjunction with Dance Massive.
The forum invites all Australian dancers, choreographers, researchers, writers, directors, producers, advocates and educators to participate in a significant dialogue that looks at and investigates the Australian contemporary dance sector.
Facilitated by Andrew Morrish, NDF2015 will address the inherent concerns and realities affecting current professional practice in Australia. It will focus on three topics – transforming the form (changing structures and their effects), the subtleties and nuances of innovation, and discourse (how dance is written about, spoken about and communicated).
The full NDF2015 program and list of speakers will be announced in late January. Watch http://ausdance.org.au for further details.
Also, for a special time only, WA artists and dance leaders are eligible to apply for a one-off Artflight grant program that will assist them in attending NDF2015. Applications close on Friday, January 23 at 4 p.m. Contact Michelle Glaser, the senior project officer at Arts Development, at Michelle.Glaser@dca.wa.gov.au for more information.
