WSB Nationals set for Sydney in September

Australian hip hop international competitionWorld Supremacy Battlegrounds, a massive Australian street dance competition, held its State Dance Championship at Netball Central in Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday, July 16. The WSB Nationals will now be held in Mounties, Sydney on September 9-11.

This year’s competition includes two brand-new divisions – the Kids Division (10 years old and under) and the Solo Choreography Division (an individual of any age competing with their original movement for one minute or less.) The School Divisions have also returned – separating high school and college levels.

So overall, dancers can compete Solo or in a Crew Division, which includes Junior, Kids, Varsity, Young Guns, Open, Monster and School Crews.

Plus, the judging criteria was adjusted for this season, with entertainment value lessening to 25% and execution being increased to 20% of total score. Another change was that the Varsity Division performance time increased to a maximum of two minutes and thirty seconds.

Excitingly, the competition is offering more cash prizes and trophies this year, plus an exclusive opportunity for the best overall dance crew to tour with a major YouTube artist later in 2016. For official rules, head to www.worldsupremacybattlegrounds.com. For specific queries, call 0420307753.
