The McDonald College offers International Summer School 2017

International Summer School in AustraliaThe International Summer School for Dancers and Dance Teachers returns next month to The McDonald College in NSW. Directed by Jacqui Dumont and Lisa Haack, this program offers Senior Courses (11 to 18 years) and Junior Courses (7 to 10 years) in modern, air-conditioned facilities. Bookings are still being accepted.

 

The outstanding faculty includes: Fiona Tonkin, principal coach of The Australian Ballet; Henning Albrechtsen, faculty member of The Royal Danish Ballet School; Steve Rooks, a professor of dance and a resident choreographer at Vassar College, USA; Jane Devine, a former dancer with The Royal Ballet; Paul Boyd, a former principal of Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Germany; Terence Kohler, a freelance choreographer from Germany; and Nicky Gattorna, a former soloist with The Royal Ballet.

 

In addition, the faculty will feature: Lindsay Ellman-Brown, a former professional dancer at The National Ballet of Zimbabwee; Stephen Clarke, an international jazz choreographer; Olivia Jenkins, formerly with Stadt Ballett Koblez; Danika Martin, with a Bachelor of Dance & Education (Dist); Kate Fitzgerald, a graduate of The Australian Ballet School; and Linda Grotto Fabbro, a former professional dancer with Fogolar Furlan Balletto Italian Folk Dance Ensemble.

 

Seniors can choose a two-week or one-week course. This year, there are only one-week Junior Courses. All courses run sometime between January 10 and 20. All participants will study classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, character, body conditioning and more.

 

Local dance teachers have the opportunity to observe classes led by the internationally recognised faculty.
