The Edge hosts auditions for full time study

Full time dance in MelbourneThe Edge Performers School in northeast Melbourne is now allowing dancers to audition for 2017 intake to its full time dance courses. Offering nationally accredited dance qualifications, the school has been training budding professionals for a career in dance for more than 16 years.

 

Graduates of The Edge have gone on to perform in productions like We Will Rock You, Strictly Ballroom, Legally Blonde, Wicked and Miss Saigon. Alumni now work worldwide for various cruise lines, contemporary dance companies, corporate entertainment companies and hip-hop crews. They’ve starred on film and on stage from Germany to Tokyo.

 

Full time courses include the Certificate IV in Dance Performance, the Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance), and the Diploma of Musical Theatre. Students will train in commercial jazz, ballet, lyrical, hip-hop, contemporary, musical theatre, drama, stage craft, singing, tap, acrobatics, body conditioning, choreography, dance partnering and ballroom.

 

Teachers for The Edge include Luke Alleva, Craig Monley, Nicole Melloy, Kalman Warhaft, Vince Callingasan, Iona Marques, Jack May, Chantelle Runting, Jayden Hicks, Rain Francis, Jonathan Homsey, Nicole King, Stephen Agisilaou, Greg Van Bergen, Stephanie Marko and Priscilla Stavrou.

 

The Edge will hold masterclass auditions in Hobart on August 20 and 21, both at Rosny College. On Saturday, August 20, Jayden Hicks will lead a lyrical masterclass. On Sunday, August 21, Chantel Runting will lead an intermediate commercial jazz class.

 

In addition, group auditions are being held weekly and private (solo) auditions are available by appointment.
