Sydney Dance Company holds PPY17 audition

Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Year 2017 AuditionSydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Year (PPY) program will hold auditions for its 2017 course on Sunday, September 4.  Applications are now open through August 7. All shortlisted applicants will be invited to audition in-person on September 4 at Sydney Dance Company Studios, located at The Wharf in Walsh Bay, NSW.

 

The one-year, full-time training course sees students learn about their craft in a dynamic professional environment alongside the members of Sydney Dance Company, including Artistic Director Rafael Bonachela. The course, which is directed by Linda Gamblin, is offered as a nationally recognised qualification – CUA50113 Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) – through an auspice arrangement with Australian Teachers of Dancing.

 

The program includes subjects like contemporary dance technique, classical ballet technique, improvisation and composition, choreographic skills and performance opportunities, yoga and Pilates, and anatomy, nutrition and injury prevention. Participants will learn Sydney Dance Company repertoire, enjoy workshops from international choreographers, and practice career planning.
