Sydney City Youth Ballet’s Nutcracker is back

SYDNEY CITY YOUTH BALLETPresented by Artistic Director Lucinda Dunn OAM with additional choreography by Paul Boyd, the Sydney City Youth Ballet’s The Nutcracker is back by popular demand at The Concourse, Chatswood from Tuesday 18 December to Sunday 23 December 2018. 

 

Where the stars of tomorrow perform alongside the stars of today, The Nutcracker presents Daniel Asher Smith, former principal of the Salzburg Ballett, in the magical role of Drosselmeyer. Sydney City Youth Ballet (SCYB ) is also joined by artists of The Australian Ballet, with Soloist Sharni Spencer and Coryphee Nathan Brook dancing the roles of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Prince, and Corps de Ballet Member Cameron Holmes dancing both the roles of The Nutcracker Prince and The Sugar Plum Prince at select performances. 

 

Also guesting are Michael Braun (former principal with the Royal New Zealand Ballet), Henry Driver (formerly Melbourne City Ballet) as well as Katie Pianoff and Brian Lynch reprising their roles as The Parents.

Established over 30 years ago by Tanya Pearson, SCYB provides the essential and valuable experience for emerging dancers to perform full-length ballets alongside professional guest artists.
