SPIEGEL’ESQUE to be premiered in Sydney

Theatrical cabaret at Spiegel Zelt SydneyThe new theatrical cabaret sensation SPIEGEL’ESQUE opens this week in Sydney! Performed in the magnificent 97-year-old Spiegel Zelt in the piazza of Leichhardt’s Italian Forum, SPIEGEL’ESQUE is part cabaret, part song and dance, part circus, and all decadent world-class entertainment.

The show announcement states, “Leave your real life at the door and enter the wonderful world of SPIEGEL’ESQUE, where your enticing host ‘Vayne’ takes you on a serendipitous romp to the decadent world of cabaret, comedy, circus and burlesque – where song, dance and slapstick collide to create entertainment that will mesmerize and titillate. Daring, quirky and sexy as hell, this is cabaret but not as you know it!”

The Spiegel Zelt, known as the smallest spiegeltent in the world, will see acclaimed performer Wayne Scott Kermond play host to a dazzling cast of entertainers, including Peta Anderson, Angelique Brown, Zan Kermond, Dylan Mahoney, Sammy Jo Risteski, Chris Talbert, Kate Wilson and Ebony Wright. A star in her own right, this unique and legendary art nouveau “Tent of Mirrors” is the ultimate cabaret venue. And like every old theatre, her ghosts travel with her, as do a million secrets woven into her velvet canopies, cut-glass mirrors and romantic booths.

“There is no other show like SPIEGEL’ESQUE,” said Wayne Scott Kermond, who plays the MC. “Come join us as we throw the most exciting party Leichhardt has seen in a long time. It’s going to be an eclectic mix of people hanging out together and having a great night. We have assembled the best cabaret artists around. I am so excited to be a part of it. Watch out Sydney, here we come.”
