SDC to launch 8-week short courses

Sydney Dance Company (SDC) will soon launch new eight-week short courses in Ballet and Contemporary. They will offer beginner dancers an extended learning experience to develop strong foundations. Courses will run on Saturdays from 19 August to 7 October.

“Introduction to Ballet: 1 and 2” will be taught by former SDC member James Taylor. Taylor has performed with the likes of Rudolf Nureyev and Sylvie Guillem, and worked with world-renowned choreographers such as Sir Frederick Ashton and Sir Kenneth MacMillan.

“Introduction to Contemporary: 1 and 2” will be taught by Paul Cordeiro, who has performed in West Side Story and The King and I. He was also resident choreographer on The Lion King. SDC interviewed him for it’s blog back in May. Cordeiro shared his love of Contemporary Dance and what to expect from his course.
