Posture & Pirouettes Workshop in Melbourne

Posture & Pirouettes Workshop in MelbourneI Can Move, a movement education organisation focused on evidence-based techniques from the fields of Psychology, Pilates and the Franklin Method, will soon offer a specialised workshop for dance educators at Elevator Studios in South Yarra, VIC.

Cueing the Dancer: Posture & Pirouettes will be taught on November 12 by Educational Psychologist/Biomechanics Educator Bea Glendenning, as well as Professional Dancer/Dance Educator Sophie Louise Briggs.

As part of “The Franklin Method approach to Cueing the Dancer” Series, this three-hour workshop is tailored to dance teachers with a passion for exploring new and innovative ways of helping their students achieve their movement goals.

It will provide “advanced mental and anatomical knowledge of how to personally image, and verbally cue, movement within the body to achieve balanced posture and an effortless pirouette”, according to I Can Move.

The workshop is open to anyone, not just to those educators who have attended the previous Pelvis & Plié Workshop.

All bookings must be made online. Head to icanmove.com.au to register. The workshop costs $100. Email Bea at bea@icanmove.com.au with any questions.
