Pip & Tom, A Genie Adventure launches online

Adam and Jessica are two circus artists based in Regional Victoria and the founders of Adica Arts. Like many artists at this time, they have been affected by the Covid-19 restrictions. Without the possibility of performing live, and with the help of a small grant from Hepburn Shire Council, they decided to try a different creative medium, a short film for children and families. The film, Pip & Tom, A Genie Adventure, is a mix of circus and magic, while touching on themes of resilience and facing fears and it’s available to watch now.

On the cusp of stepping into a career in nursing, Jessica happened upon Australia’s National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) website and all her carefully laid career plans unravelled. Three years later, Jessica graduated with a Bachelor of Circus Arts from NICA (2007), specialising in clown and flying trapeze. Jessica now has an impressive suitcase of skills and credits. Also, a graduate of the National Institute of Circus Arts (2005,) Adam has been performing as an acrobat across multiple disciplines, for the past 15 years, employed by a wide range of companies around the world, including Cirque du Soleil (ZED and Amaluna), Circa, The Great Moscow Circus, King Kong, P&O Cruises, and many more.

Their latest show invites audiences to come with Pip and Tom on a magical circus adventure that will test their courage and perseverance. They will learn just how tricky Genie training can be when magic goes haywire and hats have a mind of their own.

Adam and Jess have been blown away by the film’s overwhelmingly positive response, and are excited about the possibilities of a sequel.
