Paul Knobloch named new Ballet Master of The Australian Ballet

New Ballet Master of The Australian BalletRenowned Australian dancer and choreographer Paul Knobloch was recently appointed the Regional Touring and Storytime Ballet Master of The Australian Ballet. The role will involve him teaching daily classes within the company, as well as rehearsing and coaching the artists for regional tours and Storytime Ballet productions.

 

For Knobloch, a central part of his position is helping to cultivate deeper, more thoughtful artists and to challenge and motivate each dancer technically to achieve his or her best. His first project within The Australian Ballet will be The Nutcracker Storytime Ballet, a fresh production for children aged 3 and above. It will tour around Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia in April. In addition, he’ll aid the company with its Giselle regional tour, which begins in June.

 

Knobloch’s wealth of experience will assist him greatly. He has performed all over the world with companies such as The Australian Ballet, English National Ballet, West Australian Ballet, Béjart Ballet Lausanne, Alonzo King LINES Ballet USA, and Sydney Dance Company. He has also built a strong name for himself as a choreographer, having been commissioned to create works for The Australian Ballet, Ballet Victoria Canada and numerous leading schools and dance institutions.
