National College of Dance begins auditions

Full time dance auditions NSW 2017The National College of Dance in Lambton, NSW urges dancers interested in dancing full-time in 2017 to book their audition now, as auditions are up and running this month and there are a limited number of audition places each day.

 

From Monday 5th September through to Friday 16th September, auditions will be taking place. Each audition day includes joining the college students in morning yoga and classical class and then completing an individual audition in the afternoon before finishing with a meeting with Artistic Director Brett Morgan.

 

The National College of Dance offers the following courses: Certificate IV of Dance, Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance), and its Intensive Training Program. Both the Cert. IV and Diploma of Dance programs require one year of full-time training while the new Intensive Training Program is a part-time plus studies program specifically designed for students still in year 9 or 10.

 

Dancers will study classical ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, partnering, musical theatre, anatomy and nutrition, music connection and career planning strategies. They’ll learn from top-notch teachers like Artistic Director Brett Morgan (formerly of The Australian Ballet and Sydney Dance Company), international dancer and tutor Timothy Gordon, Alfred Taahi (formerly of Sydney Dance Company), Debbie Ellis (of So You Think You Can Dance) and RAD Classical Ballet Examiner Elise Frawley.

Auditioning dancers should bring ballet and contemporary clothing, including pointe shoes for females. They should have a detailed resume of their training (with a photo) plus food and drink. A formal application and medical documentation should be completed prior to arrival. DVD auditions are only accepted upon approval from the director.
