Murmuration announces 2016 Workshops

Inclusive Sydney Dance and Theatre WorkshopsMurmuration, an integrated performance company based in Sydney, has revealed its 2016 program of events. The organisation’s calendar is filled with a range of performing arts activities for both professional artists and the wider community, including the first stage of development for the major work Days Like These, a new piece engaging six performing artists, a digital media artist, a sound designer and a scenic artist.

Based at Addison Road Community Centre in Marrickville, the program will also present 24 dance and theatre workshops! Both for newbies or pros, these weekly workshops offer great ways to explore arts practice. They’re led by industry professionals that will help participants develop skills in devised dance and theatre methods.

Workshop participants will collaborate with professional dancers, explore improvised movement, try out new dance skills and learn theatre-based exercises. The workshops are designed to inspire artistic expression, promote individual creativity, and build confidence and independence. Those age 13 and up are welcome on Tuesday nights between 6 and 7:30 pm in Gumbramorra Hall.

The first workshop series runs May 3-June 21. The next series of eight workshops is July
19-September 6. The third series is October 11-December 6. The End-of-Year Workshop Sharing is set for Tuesday, December 6 from 7 to 8:30 pm.
