The Melbourne Latin FestivalThe 6th International Melbourne Latin Festival will be held on April 4, 5 and 6. The festival will offer dance masterclasses, including a Zouk masterclass with Kadu and Larissa, and a Pachanga masterclass with Grupo Alafia from Italy.

The Zouk masterclass with Kadu and Larissa will be offered Friday, April 4 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Darebin Arts and Entertainment Complex on Bell Street in Preston. The masterclass costs $100 per participant. There are only 15 spots, so it’s recommended to book early.

The first hour of this class includes: teaching technique for Zouk foundation movements, Zouk syllabus for beginner and intermediate classes, and
an open discussion on important topics for Zouk. The second hour includes: how to begin choreographing; musicality, timing and technique; group choreography and couple choreography.

The Pachanga masterclass with Grupo Alafia will also be offered Friday, April 4 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Darebin Arts and Entertainment Complex. It will be a class for advanced and professional dancers that will be led by four dynamic, talented dancers coming all the way from Italy. Like the Zouk masterclass, it appears there are only 15 spots, so it’s recommended to book early. It costs $100 per participant.

The 2014 Melbourne Latin Festival will bring an even more exciting and entertainment filled weekend, including three evenings of Latin dance shows and parties, more than 150 Latin dancers in attendance, 10 Latin DJ’s providing beats, a live Latin band and 40 dance workshops over three days!

Officials promise this year’s festival will be even bigger and better. The good news is prices are set the same as last year, and the Early Bird Tickets offer discounts for the weekend.
