Melbourne City Ballet offers Winter Intensive

Melbourne City Ballet in AustraliaMelbourne City Ballet will offer a five-day intensive on July 7-11 in classical, neo-classical and contemporary techniques. Participants will work with company dancers as well as international guest teachers Cédric Ygnace and Iona Marques. The intensive will focus on repertoire, choreographic workshopping and audition/performance techniques.

 

Guest instructor, company teacher and retired ballet dancer Cédric Ygnace, originally hailing from France, will bring a plethora of experience to fledging dancers. Before working in Amsterdam as a Principal Dancer with the Dutch National Ballet from 1998 to 2012, Ygnace danced with Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo in Monaco. He was a regular guest soloist with The Australian Ballet and won several dance awards, including the 2004 Alexandra Radius Prize and the 2009 Golden Swan for Best Dance Performance.

 

Guest teacher and ballerina Iona Marques will also contribute significant expertise to intensive students. A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Marques has danced with companies in Brazil, across Europe and on both sides of Australia. Most recently, she has performed with the West Australian Ballet and Queensland Ballet.
