MCB recreating ‘Wonderful Wizard of Oz’

The Wonderful Wizard of OzStill celebrating the success of its recent fundraising gala, Melbourne City Ballet (MCB) is now busy touring its production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream to venues in NT, QLD, VIC and NSW. Soon the company will begin focusing on its new show, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

MCB will recreate the cherished story of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz for audiences in VIC and TAS. The dancers will click their heels together and get a little bit wicked as they follow the classic tale of Dorothy Gale, a young country girl who is swept away to the magical world of Oz.

Full of enchanting characters—some friendly and some truly wicked—The Wonderful Wizard of Oz promises to be imaginatively brought to life in this world premiere.

With new music, sets, costumes and the company’s largest ensemble to date, MCB can’t wait to bring the show to the following venues on these 2017 dates:

October 6: Plenty Ranges Arts & Convention Centre, Preston, VIC

October 13-15: Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre, Preston, VIC

November 17: Burnie Arts & Function Centre, Burnie, TAS

November 18: Theatre North (Princess Theatre), Launceston, TAS

November 19: The Gaiety Theatre, Zeehan, TAS

November 23: Geelong Performing Arts Centre (GPAC), Geelong, VIC
